Clemyjontri Park is located right off of Georgetown Pike in McLean, VA. This enormous play area, set on two-acres, was designed to accommodate children of all abilities. In fact, it is uniquely designed to include wheelchair and walker accessibility to most equipment. This allows children of all abilities to play side-by-side.
Upon arrival, the first thing you’ll notice is how colorful and vibrant this park is! It’s ground surface and playground equipment is decked out in primary and secondary colors, so it’s a great learning environment for the very young as well.
It features a non-slip and porous ground surface that won’t make you cringe, or rather cringe less, when your child is running full speed across a playground. It also has several playgrounds for different ability groups. So, if you have babies or toddlers, there are smaller play areas for them to climb on and smaller slides as well.
In addition to all this, you’ll also find a really nice carousel right in the middle of the park, a trackless train and a picnic pavilion that is open to anyone if it is not reserved.
You’re probably wondering where the name Clemyjontri comes from. Well, according to the Fairfax County Park Authority’s website, the park’s name is derived from the donor’s four children: Carolyn (CL), Emily (EMY), John (Jon), and Petrina (Tri).
This is a wonderful park to enjoy the day at and have lunch together.
